Ingredients
Maida/All purpose flour - 1 cup
Oil - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1/3 cup
Cocoa Powder (unsweetened) - 3 tablespoons
Hot Water - 3/4 cup
Baking Soda - 1/4 teaspoon
Baking Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
Vanilla Essence - 1/4 tsp
Method
- In a bowl mix together Oil, Sugar, vanilla essence and water. Stir it well, till the sugar completely dissolves.
- Sift all the dry ingredients maida, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, in wet ingredients. Mix well.
- Preheat pressure cooker on medium flame.
- Grease baking dish well using cooking oil.
- In the cake mixture add lemon juice, mix and immediately transfer the cake mixture in baking dish
- First put one empty pot in the pressure cooker and on the top of empty pot put the baking dish; so that the baking dish does not touch the bottom of the cooker.
- Cover with the lid without putting whistle on.
- Bake on medium flame for first 5 minutes.
- Now adjust the heat to low to medium and cook for 30 to 35 minutes.
- After 30 minutes leave the cake in cooker for 5 more minutes.
- After 5 minutes insert a knife or fork in the centre of the cake, if it comes out clean that means cake is done.If the cake sticks to the knife or fork then bake the cake for 10 more minutes
- Let the cake cool down.
- After the cake cools down, run the knife around the edges of baking dish.
- Put one dish on the top of cake tin and flip this over. The cake should not stick to the bottom of the baking dish.
- Cut the cake into pieces of desired shapes and sizes.
- Serve with blob of cream or ice cream.
